Eventful December #1

Hey Lil Stars

Its mid December and the cold is truly doing its thing here in London, the approaching festive season seems to be keeping me busy as I have been going to events all around town. I am on an events roll I have been exciting my events tastebud with a mix of networking and music events. Over the next few posts I will let you know about the events that I have been going to. First up is Open Gospel on Dec 7th.
 Open Gospel

So a lovely friend of mine Faith , hosted her first  of many gospel open mic night, a vision she has to provide a platform for gospel upcoming artists to share their God-given talent with the youth of today. As you know me, being a music -lover was happy to pop along even though its a sunday and I was at work since 7 am. However that was quickly forgotten once I entered 'The Garage' in Highbury and Islington and heard the talent in the room. Thoroughly enjoyed myself  I sang along, I jumped, I laughed (the compere was hilarious) and got serenaded with talent from: The Soloettes, Triple O, The Promise, Faith (herself) Owanari Briggs and the brave young open mic'ers.

Please don't get me started on the house band, OMGosh I could literally sit and stare or just listen to them play all night I even had my musician-stank-face on, my new phrase to describe such excellence is DISTURBINGLY GOOD so that's what I will be using from now on.Overall it was a relay good first open mic, im sure she learnt a lot from it, it wasn't a full house so my tip looking through my events lense is take advantage of social media and promote, promote, promote the event way in advance. But she has already got an offer for a partnership so YOU GO GIRL, keep going and I look forward to next year's event.

Tee's Ponder: You got a vision, pray and then GO for it, you never know what might happen!!

A Couture encounter

Hi Lil Stars

Hope you guys are getting ready for the festive season ahead. Well it's the first of December  and I definitely have been upholding the 1st theme over the last week.  So let me tell you a little about my firsts and you can capture the rest in pictures.

As you all are very aware now I write part time for SLIK magazine and I  had the opportunity to do my first interview for an article that I wrote. I don't normally branch out of my borough but I'm learning to explore a little and I had fun, so Yes I was concerned about getting lost and  nervous but really enjoyable and now I cannot wait to do another one.

I popped down to ACE Hotel in Shoreditch (another first) to chat with the lovely and driven Joel Adebayo CEO of utter couture a online fashion retail which focuses on upcoming designer and brands with 5 collections or less and provides a platform to showcase and sell their clothing online.

He is such a positive being and really wants to help other reach their full potential, very fun to be around but find out more about UC  http://uttercouture.com/

The hotel design was very SLIK (lol) but with a bit of alternative and what really got my attention was the long wood tables that was a temporary hub for people to come and relax, grab a drink and do work, meet up with friends and have a relaxed meeting with colleagues. It is definitely somewhere I would be going back to for a meeting.

Keep an eye out for the next issue of SLIK magazine coming out on Dec 22..which will feature Joel's interview and other articles. Let me know what you think.

Kisses & cuddles
